West Hempstead, NY — March 24th — Under the direction of Chief of Department Andrew Brohm, the West Hempstead Fire Department, located at 295 Hempstead Tpke, continues to operate. Throughout Nassau County, the department offers mutual aid response, EMS support, and fire suppression. Crews deal with a consistent number of calls, such as service calls, auto accidents, alarms, and structure fires. Officers continue to concentrate on routine training in areas such as water supply management, search tactics, truck work, and engine company operations.

Through the county mutual aid system, the agency also works closely with nearby agencies. Officials stated that maintaining a successful response and safeguarding the community still depend on interagency coordination, equipment readiness, and regular training.
