HUNTINGTON MANOR, NY — March 30th — At a New York Islanders game at UBS Arena, the Huntington Manor Fire Department Honor Guard displayed the colors.

Members participated in the pre-game ceremony as public representatives of the fire service and the department. Departments continue to frequently assign color guards to accompany formal presentations and community gatherings.

Members stayed to watch the game after the ceremony, and the Islanders defeated the Florida Panthers 5–2. These kinds of events give departments a chance to interact with the public outside of emergency operations.
