Center Moriches Recognizes Telecommunicators Week

CENTER MORICHES, NY — April 12th — The Center Moriches Fire Department honored dispatchers who are vital to emergency response during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, which took place from April 12 to April 18.


Since 1991, the week has been devoted to honoring telecommunicators—often referred to as the "heroes behind the headset"—who operate as the initial point of contact in emergency situations.


The Center Moriches Fire Department Communications Center dispatchers were commended by department leaders for their professionalism and ability to handle both routine and high-priority emergencies with poise.


According to officials, dispatchers serve as an essential conduit between the community and responding units, providing key information that promotes efficient operations and public safety results.
