BOHEMIA, NY — March 30th — One of the biggest fire service training conferences in the nation, FDIC International 2026, will be attended by four members of the Bohemia Fire Department.

Members are taking part in classroom and practical training throughout the event, which includes "man vs. machine" scenarios, live fire "can confidence" drills, and heavy and advanced extrication. Firefighters from all around the nation and the world come together for the conference to evaluate modern fireground procedures and receive training from seasoned instructors.

Attending FDIC, according to department officials, enables members to improve their abilities and return to the department with new information and training to improve operations at home.
