COLONIAL PARK, PA — April 15th — While fighting a mulch fire at the Colonial Park Mall, Southside employees of Colonial Park Fire Company No. 1 helped an elderly couple who had a flat tire.
When the couple was returning from the incident, firefighters saw them and stopped to assist with changing the tire so they could proceed safely.
According to officials, such acts demonstrate the role firefighters play outside of emergency response, frequently helping people of the community in ordinary circumstances when necessary.
