South Plainfield Firefighters Raise Over $2,500 for Cancer Research

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — March 15th — Members of the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department took part in a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event at the North Plainfield Fire Department to generate funds and awareness for childhood cancer.


Firefighters participated in the event by shaving their heads, backing the cause and demonstrating solidarity with children fighting cancer. The gathering united fire service personnel and community members to back pediatric cancer research and outreach initiatives.


Members of the department collected over $2,500 by taking part in the event. Authorities stated that events such as St. Baldrick’s raise awareness for the battle against childhood cancer and enhance community bonds
