Bainbridge, NY — April 7th — Bainbridge Fire and EMS personnel focused on brush fire operations during their weekly practice night. There were no reported emergencies during the supervised training. Crews trained using hand tools, deploying hose lines, and coordinating suppression strategies for grass and wildland fires. This kind of training is an essential component of seasonal readiness because springtime circumstances frequently raise the risk of brush fires.
During these situations, the National Wildfire Coordinating Group's standards place a strong emphasis on safety, communication, and fire control methods. Frequent drill nights enhance safe and successful operations throughout the department's response area by ensuring members are prepared and capable of responding to swiftly spreading outdoor fires.
