This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE, NY — April 6th — The Blue Mountain Lake Volunteer Fire Department chose officers for the following year during their annual meeting. Bruce Tondreau was chosen to take over as department head after Greg George resigned. Al Pouch was chosen as treasurer, Leslie Tondreau as secretary, Tim Leach as vice president, Jim Pine as assistant chief, and Gary Tyler as department president. In order to keep volunteer fire departments organized and prepared, leadership changes are a common occurrence.

Members trained on core skills, including as the firefighter carry, downed firefighter rescue, and quick gear donning, after the meeting. These exercises enhance both operational performance and safety on emergency scenes. Strong attendance at the conference and training session was noted by officials.
