On April 17, the Binghamton Fire Department announced that as training progresses, its current recruit class continues to make progress.

As part of the Basic Passenger Vehicle Rescue course, recruits this week concentrated on vehicle stability, a crucial ability for preserving patient and firefighter safety during emergency operations. Together with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Fire Prevention and Control, department teachers are conducting the training, offering practical guidance from seasoned professionals.

The 16 recruits in the batch started their 18-week training on March 2. One of the fifteen recruits will be assigned to the Endicott Fire Department and serve the City of Binghamton.
