During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week on April 14, 2026, the Selkirk Fire Department honored dispatchers from the Town of Bethlehem Police Department.
The role dispatchers play in coordinating emergency responses was emphasized by officials, who noted that dispatchers' calm communication and prompt decision-making help EMS, police, and fire operations. As the initial point of contact, dispatchers help guarantee that resources are allocated effectively and that crews are given proper information when responding.
