FANWOOD, NJ, April 11th — The Union County Sheriff's Office received condolences from the Fanwood Fire Department when Officer Joseph Devito passed away. His service and the effect of his passing on the law enforcement community were acknowledged by the agency. Union County's fire, EMS, and police departments frequently collaborate in emergency situations, fostering solid working ties. The public safety community as a whole frequently feels the effects of losses within a single organization.

Devito's family, friends, and fellow police are in their thoughts during this time, according to Fanwood officials. Departments in the area continue to provide assistance by sending out notifications and pooling resources as needed. First responders who serve the same communities continue to cooperate and respect one another, as evidenced by the acknowledgement.
