Chester Crews Support School Fire Safety Program

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

CHESTER, NH — March 23rd — For a school outreach program centered on community involvement and fire safety awareness, the Chester Fire Department paid a visit to Chester Academy. Firefighters read aloud to students and talked about the function of the fire department as well as fundamental safety procedures like dialing 911 and identifying potential dangers at home. These kinds of school visits are a component of ongoing public education initiatives that departments throughout New Hampshire employ to engage younger audiences.

While still being ready for emergency response, staff members volunteered for the event. These kinds of initiatives promote long-term safety awareness in the community and foster early trust between schoolchildren and first responders. Students were able to engage directly with firemen in a classroom setting thanks to the school staff's coordination of the visit and provision of program access.
