Madawaska Fire Highlights Long-Serving Apparatus

MADAWASKA, ME — March18th — The Madawaska Fire Department showcased its long-standing equipment by highlighting a number of pieces that are still in use.


A 1979 Chevy Brigadier tanker with a 2,600-gallon capacity, a 1983 Pierce Engine 4 with a 1,000-gallon tank and a 1,250 GPM pump, and a 2002 Pierce Quantum Engine 2 with comparable capacity and pumping ability are all part of the roster. Before a more modern unit was added, officials stated that Engine 2 was the department's main piece of equipment for more than 20 years.
