Franklin Fire Secures Competitive State Grant

FRANKLIN, MA — March 31st — The Franklin Fire Department, located at 40 W Central St., announced that it has received a grant of $21,649.08 for equipment through a competitive program run by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services. State grant programs are frequently utilized to help departments buy technology, tools, and safety equipment that support emergency response and daily operations. Usually, funding is given out in accordance with anticipated use and proven necessity.


Every year, departments throughout Massachusetts compete for these awards to assist defray local expenses and uphold adherence to current safety regulations. According to the Franklin Fire Department, the money will help firefighter safety and operational preparedness while also improving equipment.
