Cambridge, MA - Firefighter/divers from the Cambridge Fire Department took part in a dive training exercise that included the deployment, testing, and evaluation of a newly developed rescue tool known as the “Hydrohold” device.

The tool is designed to allow a diver to securely attach a victim to themselves, enabling hands-free movement and safer, more efficient removal from the water.

The training provided an opportunity for crews to assess the device’s effectiveness in real-world conditions, enhancing underwater rescue capabilities.

The “Hydrohold” was designed and fabricated by a team of MIT seniors, who were on site to observe and assist with the evaluation process
