The Selkirk Fire Department drilled with new members at the fire training tower in Bethlehem on Wednesday, April 7.

New members of the department who are training for their interior firefighting certifications were paired up with trained members to practice arriving at a fire scene and advancing a hoseline into a structure.

Traffic cones were used in place of fire to start out to get the new members familiar with the practice.

Another member was also learning how to pump water through the fire engine from one of the pump operators.

All members present were also familiarized with two new fire hydrants donated to the fire training tower.
