BAY HEAD, NJ — March 26th — A concentrated training session on Vent, Enter, Search (VES) operations was completed by members of Bay Head Fire Company No. 1. A quick classroom refresher of VES concepts, strategies, and important safety issues kicked off the evening.
After that, crews used a freshly built training prop for practical exercises. In order to improve cooperation and air management under realistic fireground conditions, firefighters conducted window entry, directed searches, and victim evacuation tactics. Members were able to replicate evolutions in a safe environment because to the prop, which promoted consistency and self-assurance.
VES is still a crucial skill for focused search operations during building fires, according to training officers. Frequent exercises such as these promote efficient and safe performance on the fireground.
