ROSELLE, NJ — April 3rd — In order to improve interior firefighting techniques and preserve operational readiness, firefighters from the Roselle Fire Department, located at 725 Chestnut Street, Roselle, NJ 07203, recently took part in live burn training. Crews participate in simulated fire situations that closely mimic actual incidents during live fire training. While working under supervision, firefighters practiced coordinated fire assault, hose line advancement, ventilation, and crew communication throughout the evolution.
Live burn exercises are routinely conducted by departments around New Jersey as part of firefighter certification and continuing education. These exercises adhere to the safety regulations set forth in NFPA 1403, the national standard that controls fire department live fire training. According to officials, practical training keeps firefighters ready for eventualities like building fires.
