Hawleyville, CT - On March 19, emergency crews were kept busy responding to two separate incidents in Newtown.
In the early hours at approximately 2:15 a.m., Hawleyville Fire, Newtown Ambulance, and paramedics were dispatched to Interstate 84 westbound following a tractor-trailer rollover. Rescue 334 assisted in managing a fuel spill, while Tanker 339 provided traffic control by blocking the roadway to ensure the safety of responders.
Later in the day, around 2:30 p.m., Newtown Hook & Ladder and Hawleyville Fire responded to a vehicle fire on Mount Pleasant Road. Engine 111 quickly brought the fire under control, with support from Engine 331.
