ASHBY, MA — March 13th — Brian Reichelt has formally assumed the position of Fire Chief for the Ashby Fire Department, according to the Ashby FIRE EMS Association Inc. After years of work with the department and the local emergency services community, Reichelt takes on the role. According to department officials, he is well-suited to manage the department because of his background and knowledge with local operations.

The Ashby Fire Department serves nearby communities in north-central Massachusetts with mutual aid assistance, emergency medical response, and fire protection. Fire chiefs are in charge of daily operations, training, and emergency coordination with regional partners. Such changes in leadership contribute to the stability and readiness of volunteer and combination fire units.
