Guilderland Center, NY - During the department’s most recent drill, members focused on mastering apparatus pump operations. Three crews were assigned to different areas of the fire district to locate hydrants, establish hydrant connections using gate valves, and supply water through hose lines or truck-mounted deck guns.

Engine 46, Ladder 49, and Engine 47 each participated, giving firefighters hands-on time with their equipment and reinforcing proper water-supply techniques. These drills help ensure that crews can rapidly secure and sustain water flow during real emergencies, improving safety and efficiency on the fireground.
