EAST BRIDGEWATER, MA — March 8th — On International Women's Day, the East Bridgewater Fire Department, located at 268 Bedford St., honored a number of its members. The yearly celebration honors the accomplishments of female firefighters and other public safety professionals. Administrative Assistant Pamela Riccio and Firefighters Katie Maffeo, Stephanie Wright, Jackie Tose, and Jennifer Gallant Backman were honored.

The day is used by departments across to honor the increasing number of women working in emergency medical services, firefighting, and department operations. Their efforts support community engagement, training, and emergency response initiatives that contribute to the safety of locals.
