BOSTON, MA — March 9th — The Boston Fire Department, located at 115 Southampton St., took part in "Office Hours with the Mayor," a community engagement program held at the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building. To meet with locals and provide information about fire safety initiatives, members of the department's Fire Prevention Education Unit were there.
Residents had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about local resources during the event, which brought together a number of city departments and government agencies. The department's safety programs, house escape plans, and the use of smoke alarms were all covered by fire prevention personnel. The Boston Fire Department's goal continues to include community outreach, which uses engagement and education to raise public awareness and lower fire risk throughout the city.
