The Bondsville Fire Department announced on April 1st that it had received $12,500 from the Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program.

The funds will be used to purchase two sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) for new firefighters, as well as a gear drier to aid in the cleaning and decontamination of turnout gear. According to department officials, the equipment will increase firefighter safety and promote regular protective gear maintenance.

The agency expressed gratitude to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the agency of Fire Services for awarding the grant. Officials also stated that Bondsville Fire has received similar funds in recent years, allowing the department to replace equipment at no additional expense to the district. The department also recognized Deputy Chief Golas for his work preparing and submitting the grant applications.
