This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 2nd, members of Orange Fire Rescue EMS joined the Orange Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for Read Across America Day at Fisher Hill School.

As part of a statewide initiative to promote literacy and community engagement, first responders spent the morning reading with students and sharing a variety of books. The tour allowed kids to meet local emergency responders and learn about their roles in the community.

Officer Johnson and Lieutenant Goody also gave a demonstration with K9s Zeus and Reno, teaching children how the dogs help law enforcement officers.
