Pittsburgh, PA - Probationary Firefighter David Chapman has officially earned his black shield after successfully completing his Rookie Book, marking the end of his probationary period. All Berkeley Hills firefighters are required to complete this rigorous process, which includes nearly 300 hours of training before they are cleared for full duty.
The milestone reflects a significant achievement in Firefighter Chapman’s development and commitment to the department.
While celebrating this accomplishment, the Berkeley Hills Volunteers also remained actively engaged in emergency response, handling 16 incidents since midnight.
