Chepachet, RI — March 8th — On International Women's Day, the Chepachet Fire Department honored the female volunteers working in the fire districts of Glocester. Members of the Chepachet, West Glocester, and Harmony Fire Districts who help with emergency medical response, fire safety, and community support were acknowledged. All around Rhode Island, volunteer agencies depend on committed individuals who answer calls while juggling job and family obligations. Women are still employed by the fire service in a variety of capacities, such as officers, support personnel, EMTs, and firemen.

The award demonstrated the volunteers' unwavering dedication to training, responding to emergencies, and promoting public safety throughout the community. Their service supports the long-standing legacy of volunteer fire departments in the area while assisting Glocester locals in having dependable fire and emergency medical services.
