March 26, 2026 — Members of Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 conducted a comprehensive training drill focused on both engine and rescue operations. During the first portion of the session, firefighters reviewed stabilization struts, basic cribbing techniques, and the use of hydraulic rams, reinforcing critical skills used in vehicle and structural rescue scenarios.
Crews then transitioned into practical evolutions, breaking into teams to deploy and repack hose lines from Engine 302 multiple times to improve efficiency and coordination. The training emphasized teamwork, equipment familiarity, and operational readiness. In addition to the drill, members remained busy throughout the day, responding to seven incidents amid heavy rain conditions.
Officials noted that consistent training like this ensures crews are prepared to handle a wide range of emergencies safely and effectively.
