On March 20th, Lincoln Fire Rescue announced that Dave Bodak has been named the 2025 Elwood Baker Firefighter of the Year.

Bodak was acknowledged for his 25 years of service and leadership in the department. Throughout his career with the organization, he has held the positions of Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors, including many periods as Chairman.

According to department authorities, Bodak is a dependable fireman on emergency scenes who also serves as a mentor to new members. In addition to his operating duties, he is responsible for maintaining and repairing department apparatus and equipment.
