LEWISTON, NY — March 3rd — The Tiger Den from Cub Scout Pack 829 was invited to visit the Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 for a closer look at local fire service activities. Firefighters emphasized the use of self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing during emergency responses while demonstrating full turnout gear. Scouts also saw typical tools on trucks and engines and took a tour of the department's fire apparatus.
In addition to providing young residents with an introduction to how firefighters train, attend to emergencies, and operate equipment, these programs aid in teaching basic fire safety. Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 members responded to the scouts' inquiries and urged neighborhood associations, educational institutions, and youth groups to get in touch with the department to arrange future educational visits and tours.
