This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The LeRoy Fire Department recently received new STIHL battery-powered rescue saws provided by Cedar Street Sales and Rentals.

Representatives Connor and Adam Clark trained firemen on how to operate and maintain the new equipment. Dale Ehrhart, a Gold Certified STIHL technician with Cedar Street, provided further education as a department member and Past Chief.

The new equipment comprises the MSA 300 C-O rescue saw, TSA 230 and TSA 300 rotary cutoff saws, an MSA 220 TC-O tree saw, chargers, and numerous battery systems. Officials stated that the saws will be put on the department's new ladder truck when it arrives, providing advantages during roof operations and in smokey situations.
