Woodmere Members Remember Chief John Bowker

Woodmere, NY — March 16th — The Woodmere Vol. Fire Department commemorated the 53rd anniversary of Chief John Bowker's death while performing his duties. The department took a moment to commemorate Chief Bowker's service and his influence on the Woodmere community. Along with the Bowker and Redash families, the department commemorated the anniversary. The fire department has a long-standing custom of commemorating anniversaries of line-of-duty deaths.
Departments all throughout the nation take time to honor personnel who died while serving their communities and to acknowledge the contributions they made to the department's history. Members of the Woodmere Vol. Fire Department continue to remember Chief Bowker's leadership and service as part of the department's ongoing custom of paying tribute to those who came before them.
