March 18, 2026 — Auburn Fire Department announced the promotion of firefighter Keith Saunders to the rank of Lieutenant, recognizing his years of dedicated service and leadership within the department. Lieutenant Saunders began his career in April 2013 and has served in multiple critical roles, including as a paramedic on rescue units and as an operator of fire apparatus. Known for his commitment to mentoring new and prospective firefighters, Saunders has played an important role in developing the next generation of department personnel. His promotion also continues a proud family tradition of service, following in the footsteps of his father, Eric Saunders, a veteran firefighter with more than 25 years of service who remains active within the department.
