North Massapequa Probationary Firefighters Train on Fire Behavior

NORTH MASSAPEQUA, NY — March 22nd — Recently, the North Massapequa Fire Department, located at 1000 N Broadway, North Massapequa, NY, United States, 11758, trained probationary members in fire classification and chemistry. The workshop was led by members of the department's Training Committee, who gave instruction on how various fire kinds behave and how firemen choose the appropriate extinguisher for each circumstance.


During a supervised live fire simulation, probationary firefighters also received practical training with a variety of extinguishers. Firefighters went over common fire classifications such electrical fires, flammable liquids, and conventional combustibles. Joseph G. Ferrante, Chief of Department, stated that seasoned senior members frequently support training to help more junior firemen gain expertise and self-assurance.
