Merrick EMS Community Pays Tribute to Linda Segota

MERRICK, NY — March 11th — AEMT-CC Linda Segota, a longstanding member and active emergency medical professional, passed away, according to the North Merrick Fire Department. Segota was a longtime employee of the agency and served as its treasurer. She continued to actively react to calls and assist with EMS operations in addition to her administrative responsibilities. Segota was trained to provide advanced prehospital treatment and support paramedic-level clinicians during medical emergencies as an Advanced EMT-Critical treatment provider, a credential utilized in New York State.


She was well-known in the department with the monikers "Wild Mom," "Mom," and "Lin." During her career, Segota helped generations of firefighters and EMTs and forged solid relationships, according to other members. Her commitment to the fire and EMS community will be remembered, according to department officials.
