Long Beach Native Honored as Hometown Hero

LONG BEACH, NY — March 16th — Chris Mazziotti, a longstanding member of the City of Long Beach New York Fire Department, was named a Hometown Hero for his ongoing dedication to the fire and emergency medical services. Mazziotti attended Nassau Community College after graduating from Long Beach High School. He began working as an EMT for FDNY EMS in 2007. In March 2013, he enrolled in the FDNY Paramedic program and received his paramedic certification.
In 2021, he received a promotion to Lieutenant in the FDNY EMS. Mazziotti has been a member of the Long Beach Fire Department since 2005. He has worked in the Hook and Ladder Company and the Rescue Company before taking on the role of Captain of Engine 1. He, his spouse, and their four kids reside in Long Beach.
