Bantam, CT - Personnel from all five Town of Litchfield, Connecticut, emergency service departments recently participated in training on new portable radios ahead of their deployment. The radios, funded by a $630,000 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) applied for by the Bantam Fire Company, represent a significant upgrade from the town’s 20-year-old obsolescent equipment. The Town of Litchfield contributed a $31,500 cost share toward the purchase. Officials noted that the new radios will enhance communication capabilities while minimizing the financial impact on local taxpayers.
