Firefighters Work to Clear Hydrants, Urge Community Assistance

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Trumbull, CT - Members of the department spent time clearing snow and shoveling around fire hydrants along major roadways throughout the district. Despite deploying three separate crews, not all hydrants were able to be reached.

Residents and business owners are strongly encouraged to “adopt a hydrant” near their property and clear it as thoroughly as possible. Taking just a few minutes to ensure hydrants are accessible can make a critical difference during an emergency response.

Crews will continue working over the coming days—weather permitting and in between additional snowstorms—but maintaining access to hydrants is a shared responsibility. The department thanks the community for its ongoing support and commitment to public safety.
