Waterbury Firefighters Highlight Annual Call Volume and Comprehensive Services
March 15, 2026 — The Waterbury Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 1339 highlighted the scope and dedication of its members, noting that Waterbury Fire Department responds to approximately 23,000 calls for service each year. Operating out of nine fire stations across the city, firefighters provide critical services including fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency medical assistance to residents and visitors throughout the Brass City. In addition to frontline response, the department maintains specialized divisions such as the Bureau of Instruction and Training, Bureau of Fire Prevention, and Bureau of Administrative Services, ensuring preparedness, safety education, and efficient operations.
