February 22, 2026 — The West Shore Fire Department has shared an important notice from city officials regarding a citywide parking ban in West Haven as a winter storm approaches. The ban is scheduled to take effect at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sunday and will remain in place until further notice. During this time, parking will not be permitted on either side of any street within the city. Officials state that the West Haven Police Department will actively enforce the ban, and vehicles found in violation may be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense. Residents are advised that alternative parking will be available at school properties and designated city-owned lots, and they are encouraged to consult the city’s website for a complete list of approved parking locations. Authorities stress that the measure is necessary to ensure efficient snow removal operations and maintain public safety during the storm.
