Ellington Fire Department Acquires Hurst Rescue Tools

The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department has announced the acquisition of hydraulic rescue tools from the Lakewood Fire Department.


The equipment set consists of a Hurst cutter, spreader, two rams, hose reels, chains, extra hose, and two pumps. Officials claimed the instruments will help the department tackle car extrication and other technical rescue emergencies.


Members congratulated Chief Hallburg and the Lakewood firemen for making the transfer possible. The additional equipment will help Ellington respond to motor vehicle accidents and other incidents that need rescue tools.
