BALDWIN, NY — February 24th — Members of the Baldwin Fire Department posted pictures of their crews working during a winter snowfall that affected a large portion of Long Island and Nassau County. Firefighters continued to respond to calls and provide coverage for the neighborhood in spite of the snow-covered streets and chilly weather. Crews must work cautiously in challenging conditions since winter storms frequently result in an increase in alarms, medical calls, and automobile collisions.

Long Island fire agencies also advise locals to keep snow off fire hydrants so they may be easily accessed in an emergency. In order to guarantee dependable response, departments routinely inspect machinery and equipment over the winter. The images show Baldwin firefighters carrying out their regular tasks despite difficult winter weather in order to assist the town.
