March 15, 2026 — The Town of Montville Volunteer Fire Service reports that the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory affecting the four southern counties of Connecticut, including New London County and the Town of Montville. The advisory, issued at 2:26 PM Sunday, is scheduled to take effect at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 16, and continue through early Tuesday morning. Forecasters predict sustained south winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts reaching up to 50 mph, and isolated gusts potentially as high as 55 mph. Officials warn that these conditions may lead to downed tree limbs, scattered power outages, and hazardous travel—particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, use caution while driving, and remain alert for changing weather conditions as the system moves through the region.
