Tribes Hill, NY — March 3rd — Tribes Hill Fire Department authorized two new volunteers, including a father and son combo. After completing Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) training, Tyler Greenwald joins the department as an EMT. Greg Greenwald, his father, is a Certified First Responder and possesses BEFO certification.

By supporting external operations, scene safety, and equipment deployment, training like BEFO equips firefighters to help during structure fires. Before ambulance workers arrive, agencies can give emergency aid more quickly thanks to EMS and first responder credentials. The Greenwalds' inclusion will improve emergency response coverage for the Tribes Hill community, according to department officials.
