Perth Firefighters Respond to EMS Call on State Route 30

Perth, NY — March 15th — On State Route 30 in the Town of Perth, the Perth Volunteer Fire Company responded to a medical emergency. While Lake Valley Ambulance arrived to treat and transfer patients, firefighters were called in to help. When crews arrived, they assisted EMS workers by evaluating the situation and making sure the ambulance could enter safely.


Fulton County's volunteer fire departments regularly respond to medical emergencies, especially in rural regions where fire units can swiftly arrive to help emergency medical services. Many firefighters have received basic life support and scene management training. Fire crews vacated the area and resumed operations after patient treatment was finished and the ambulance was ready for transfer.
