March 18, 2026 — The Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department recently enhanced its cold-water rescue capabilities thanks to a generous community donation.
Funds provided by Dakin Farms during the department’s fall open house were used to purchase two new Mustang ice rescue suits, critical equipment for members trained in ice and water rescue operations. These specialized suits provide thermal protection and buoyancy, helping keep rescuers safe while operating in frigid conditions.
Department officials expressed their appreciation for the donation, noting that community support plays a vital role in maintaining both firefighter safety and operational readiness.
