Lieutenant Jodi Bartlett and her father, Captain Ralph Bartlett, were recognized by the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Department for achieving a remarkable milestone in fire service training.
Both are trained New York State Fire Instructors, and over the weekend, they may have been the first father-daughter combo in the state to be certified to teach classes for firemen throughout New York. According to department officials, the achievement represents the Bartlett family's long history of support for firefighter education, the department, and the community.
