Wellsville, NY — March 16th — The Wellsville NY Volunteer Fire Department honored Past Chief Rodney Winans during a Department Fire Board meeting for his service and leadership as chief of the department.

Winans, who served as chief from 2023 to 2025, was given an outgoing chief's gift in acknowledgment of his years of service to the department and the community.

During the meeting, first assistant chief Andrew Havens and second assistant chief Kevin Fleischman gave a presentation. Department officials stated that Winans' leadership and commitment helped manage the organization during his stint as chief.
