Westfield Fire Department Honors Fallen Members in March Remembrance

March 1, 2026 — Town of Westfield Fire Department paid tribute to members who passed away during the month of March, honoring their service, dedication, and lasting contributions to the department and community. The department recognized William H. Grogan (3/8/1904), William J. Alpers (3/2/1914), Frederick Anderson (3/22/1928), Robert F. Hohenstein (3/18/1939), G. Peek, Jr. (3/25/1954), F. Warden (March 1960), R. Siela (3/6/1968), Thomas Hyslip (3/16/1973), John Fiorino (3/30/1998), Anthony Vastano (3/9/2001), and Daniel Maglione (3/29/2011). Department officials noted that each of these individuals played a role in shaping the history and legacy of the organization, and their service continues to be remembered with respect and gratitude. The message, “Gone but not forgotten,” reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to honoring those who served before them.
