CASTORLAND, NY — February 17th — When a car collision occurred at the intersection of East Road and New York State Route 410 in the Town of Denmark, the Castorland Fire Company and EMS responded. When chief officers arrived, they discovered two cars involved. A automobile ended up in a snowbank, while a pickup truck fell into a ditch. After being examined, the driver of the truck reported no injuries.

There were two people in the automobile, one of whom was a woman who was complaining of chest and back pain. While waiting for EMS from Lewis-Saxon-River Ambulance Service, firefighters stabilized the car and set up rescue equipment. Crews used a backboard to help EMS remove patients. The driver refused transportation, but the patient was taken to a nearby hospital. The cars were taken out by tow services.
